The WNBA season is set to begin in May, marking a big year for the Indiana Fever and, most notably, Caitlin Clark, who will return for her third season after last year was cut short due to injuries. She appeared in just 13 games during the 2025 season.

Ahead of the season, Clark made headlines Tuesday with an exciting new career opportunity. She is set to debut on NBC Sports’ upcoming NBA coverage on Feb. 1 as part of “Sunday Night Basketball.”

The coverage will air Saturday, starting with Basketball Night in America featuring Clark, before the Los Angeles Lakers face the New York Knicks and the Oklahoma City Thunder take on the Denver Nuggets.

Clark will serve as a special contributor, joining host Maria Taylor and NBA Hall of Famers Carmelo Anthony, Tracy McGrady, and Vince Carter.

“I’m really excited to be part of the Basketball Night in America crew this season,” Clark said. “Carmelo, Vince, and Tracy are legends of the game, and Maria is a true professional. It will be really fun to join them a few times this season.”

Sam Flood, Executive Producer of NBC Sports, also released a brief statement on Clark’s addition.

“Caitlin is one of the most captivating players and dynamic scorers in basketball,” Flood said. “We’re excited to have Caitlin join Hall of Famers Melo, Vince, Tracy, and Reggie in New York for the launch of Sunday Night Basketball.”
