The WNBA is the fastest-growing professional league in the United States. A lot of the exponential growth can be traced back to the Indiana Fever drafting superstar point guard Caitlin Clark with the first-overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft.

Now, Clark is taking her talents to another platform: NBA coverage. The transcendent talent will be joining NBC for its pregame coverage for the debut of “Sunday Night Basketball,” when the Los Angeles Lakers face off against the New York Knicks in Madison Square Garden.

“There’s no more iconic figure in basketball in the women’s game right now, or the game in general,” Sam Flood, executive producer for NBC Sports, said, according to the NBA’s official website. “So, we said, ‘let’s have a bigger conversation.’”

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“That’s fine. I’m all for her. People thinking a studio set needs 5 people at once is ridiculous. The most should be 3,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Caitlin and Angel are continuing to stack up and build their brand off the court. I love seeing what the top ladies are doing with their brands now,” one fan added.

“Smart. Most popular female athlete in world,” another fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see how Clark does from behind a desk.
