The early hours of today (January 27), between midnight and 6 a.m., were not easy for those living in the district of Lisbon, with wind gusts reaching up to 80 km/h.
But storm Joseph is still hovering over our territory, so very adverse weather conditions are expected to continue.
IPMA alerts

From the early hours of January 27 until 9 a.m. on January 28, the Lisbon district will remain under a yellow warning due to heavy rain and gusts of wind.
The “fault” lies with the passage of the Joseph depression over mainland Portugal, which is putting the authorities on alert, with the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) issuing severe weather warnings for the coming hours, with the Greater Lisbon area being one of the hardest hit, facing a dangerous combination of persistent rainfall and severe winds.
Now that the first period has passed, attention must now be paid to the early hours of Wednesday (28th), between 3 a.m. and 9 a.m., when you should once again take protective and safety measures, such as:
Clearing rainwater drainage systems; Properly securing loose structures such as scaffolding and billboards; Avoiding traveling in wooded areas and along the coast; Adopt defensive driving and avoid roads affected by snow; Stay tuned to weather reports and follow the instructions of the authorities.
The population is also advised to stay informed and follow the recommendations of the competent authorities to ensure safety during this period of adverse weather conditions.
Even on rainy days, Lisbon is not a place to stay at home and miss out on all these plans.
