Robert Stuart Daniel, age 80, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on January 31, 1945, to Kathleen and Stuart Daniel in Manville, Alberta, Robert grew up with a lifelong passion and curiosity for independent learning. As a young man, he found his voice in music, performing in a successful band and sharing his talent by teaching guitar at a local music store. His commitment to education led him to complete business college in Kelowna before earning a music degree from the University of Victoria.
As a dedicated elementary teacher, Robert influenced countless students with his unique blend of humour, curiosity for science, and deep love for music. Beyond the classroom, his interests were vast; he was equally at home performing mechanical repairs, tending his farm, or practicing the culinary arts and winemaking.
Robert was a quiet and peaceful man who expressed his love through action, often preparing careful, detailed meals for those he held dear. His joy in the small details of life is what made him so very special.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Yolande; his children, Melanie (Yair), Genevieve (Arne), and Mathieu; and his six cherished grandchildren: Waseem, Noah, Aiyana, Ido, Atticus, and Alexandra.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer, with details to be announced at a later date.
