Professional bull riding returns to Red Deer this Saturday, (January 31), as the PBR Canada Cup Series kicks off its 2026 season with the PBR Red Deer Classic at the Marchant Crane Centrium at Westerner Park.
For the fifth consecutive year, the event will showcase Canada’s top riders alongside elite international athletes, all squaring off against the rankest bucking bulls in North America.
This year’s lineup features championship bulls including “Moonwalk,” 2025 Bull of the Year, “Grand Funk,” 2024 Bull of the Year, and fan favourites such as “Pay Day,” “Broken Pearl,” and “Night Fury.”
Each bull weighs between 1,700 and 2,000 pounds, while riders average 140 pounds, underscoring the sheer power and skill required to survive the eight-second rides.
The PBR Canada Cup Series, launched in 2016, is Canada’s first cross-country bull riding tour and each one-day event brings more than 50 bulls and 500 tons of dirt to the arena, creating an authentic experience for competitors and spectators alike.
Fans attending the Red Deer Classic can expect high-adrenaline, eight-second rides, thrilling wrecks, and a full night of entertainment.
Doors open at 6:00 p.m., with the first ride set for 7:00 p.m. and tickets are available through ticketsalberta.com.
