There’s so much going on in February in entertainment that I don’t even know where to begin. Not only are we up against the day of sugar highs—i.e., Valentine’s Day—but we also have awards season and the 2026 Winter Olympic Games to contend with. That’s not affecting HBO Max, though, which is gearing up for a hot and heavy month, according to its latest list of everything coming to the platform in February.
In addition to a plethora of what I like to call lovey-dovey Day movies, which range anywhere from funny and lighthearted to completely sappy and smothering, you can also expect original series debuts from HBO, along with a must-see true-crime documentary. We’ll also see the streaming debuts of two new films, both of which have high Rotten Tomatoes scores and are worth your time.
John Oliver is finally returning from what feels like a year-long hiatus with season 13 of Last Week Tonight, and the HBO drama series Like Water for Chocolate is back with its smoldering second season. We’ll also see the debut of a new late-night reality series called Neighbors, A24’s first unscripted series that is a must-see look at modern-day America through the lens of contemporary conflict. Next up is the highly anticipated series Portobello, which tells the true-life story of beloved Italian TV host Enzo Tortora, who was wrongly—and intentionally—accused by several alleged ex-mobsters turned informants and state witnesses as being part of a Neapolitan crime syndicate dedicated to trafficking drugs. The six-episode drama details the entire horrific judicial ordeal and marks the release of the first Italian HBO Original series.
February will also see the debut of a compelling two-part original true-crime documentary called Murder in Glitterball City, which takes us into the heart of Louisville, Kentucky—no kidding, the birthplace of the mirrored glitterball—to explore a dark, twisted tale of love, mystery, toxicity, vulnerability, and, of course, murder. Parts 1 and 2 will air back-to-back on February 19.
New films dropping on the platform this month include Boys Go to Jupiter, a super-dreamy and surreal animated coming-of-age story from Cartuna and Irony Point Film, and, to cool things back down after the Day of Hugs and Kisses, Dead of Winter, a psychological thriller story featuring plenty of action and impressive performances by Emma Thompson and Judy Greer.
Here is a complete list of everything coming to HBO Max in February 2026.
