“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Shahidi and Dr. Negm to our Recruitment Program. Dr. Shahidi has already begun practicing at the Marmora Medical Centre and Dr. Negm will be practicing in Bancroft in the near future,” stated Warden Mullin.
“Beginning my practice in Marmora is an opportunity to provide comprehensive family medicine while becoming an engaged and committed member of this wonderful community,” stated Dr. Shahidi.
The Physician Recruitment Program remains a key strategy in addressing physician shortages across Hastings County. “Ensuring that residents throughout Hastings County have access to primary care has been a priority and today’s announcement is a significant milestone in that ongoing effort,” added Warden Mullin.
“During my previous work at North Hastings Hospital, I was deeply grateful for the warm welcome from the Hastings County community. I am thrilled to join Bancroft Community Family Health Team, a dedicated and collegial group of healthcare professionals, and to begin building lasting relationships with the people of Bancroft and Hastings County.
My goal is to ensure every patient is treated with the dignity and respect they deserve, helping my neighbours navigate their health journeys closer to home,” stated Dr. Negm.
“Our ‘Stronger Together’ approach ensures that we provide the best possible care for our patients, keeping essential services like the North Hastings Hospital emergency department vital and accessible. Strong, community-focused care is essential, and I am eager to bring that commitment to my new home,” added Dr. Negm.
“Having stable access to family doctors improves overall health, strengthens preventative care, and enhances the quality of life for our residents,” added Warden Mullin.
