Cody Rhodes has responded to all the fan theories that a double turn is taking place at WWE SummerSlam weekend between him and John Cena.
Following Cena seemingly turning babyface Friday night on SmackDown, fan speculation went into overdrive that evening regarding Rhodes turning heel on Cena at SummerSlam.
WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes was a recent guest on Gabby AF. When asked about the potential of a double turn happening this weekend, Rhodes said he believes that if he turned at SummerSlam, it would be detrimental to the company.
“People talk about, ‘Oh, I bet they’re going to do this double turn.’ No,” Cody Rhodes stated. “I think, to take a page out of [Cena’s] book, if they think I’m a heel, then I’m a heel. To me, I’m not changing my game. It would be detrimental to the place I work to make a pivot. No more Kingdom, no more promos, no more merch. Real bad guy stuff. However, I have ears open, and I’m well aware that sometimes it’s not your night.” [H/T: Fightful]
WrestleZone will have live coverage of WWE SummerSlam all weekend long.
