Mike Rose will continue to be a rose in the side of quarterbacks on behalf of the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
The CFL club has announced that it has signed the 6-foot-2, 268-pound defensive lineman to a one-year contract extension.

Rose had spent eight seasons with the Calgary Stampeders before he joined the Riders last off-season.
He suited up for 17 regular-season games with Saskatchewan, where he recorded 17 defensive tackles, six sacks, a forced fumble, and a tackle for loss. He was a key part of the team’s playoff run that ended with them raising the Grey Cup for just the fifth time in team history.
During his time in Calgary, he was named a CFL all-star three times (2021-23) and also won the Grey Cup with the Stamps in 2018. He had 11 sacks in 2023.
The Fountain Inn, S.C. product first joined the CFL in May of 2017 when he signed with Calgary. He went on to play 86 games with Calgary. Over that time, he had 143 defensive tackles, 36 sacks, two interceptions, including one he returned for a touchdown, and three forced fumbles.
He spent four seasons with North Carolina State collegiately before he signed with the NFL’s New York Giants as an undrafted free agent.
Rose is the 19th free agent general manager Jeremy O’Day has been able to sign from the 44 pending free agents the club had.
The CFL Free Agency communication window opens tomorrow. It allows players to negotiate deals with other clubs. Any deals agreed to during that window do not become official until free agency opens on Feb. 10.
