Ariana Grande is laughing after a fan said a picture from a recent Vogue cover shoot accidentally gave her an extra finger.

Vogue Japan recently named the pop star and “Wicked” actress its March 2026 cover star and since published an interview and released photos of her.

A fan said there was a blunder in a since-deleted post from the photoshoot, giving the “Eternal Sunshine” singer six fingers on one hand instead of five. Grande commented on the fan’s post with her reaction, quipping that she needed the extra finger to work on her next album.

She wrote in the fan post’s comment section on Jan. 30: “oh my goodness how exciting ! i’ve been saying i need some extra appendages so that i can start an album ! thankful for this.”

Ariana Grande didn’t ‘expect to be an Oscar-nominated actress’

In the cover story, Grande spoke about her success returning to acting while still thriving as a musician.

“I never saw this moment in my life coming,” she told reporter Tomás Mier. “I feel like it’s the first time in my career — between ‘Wicked’ and ‘Eternal Sunshine’ — when I really feel seen for my work and as an artist. I really do.”

She continued: “Never in my life did I expect to be an Oscar-nominated actress. I just never thought I’d be seen that way by the industry that I love. I give my life to art every minute of every day. So to feel embraced back — and to share it with my mom — is so extraordinary.”

Throughout her career, Grande has earned 19 Grammy nominations and two wins, as well as two Golden Globe nominations and one Oscar nomination.

However, she was not nominated for the 2026 Oscars as the musical sequel “Wicked: For Good” was shut out on Jan. 22 despite predictions from awards pundits.
