PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — The Villanova University men’s tennis team fell 7–0 on the road against Drexel on Saturday at the Vidas Field Tennis Center.

The Dragons claimed the doubles point after taking two of the three matches. On court No. 1, Erlewein and Burridge defeated Gordon and Carr, 6–3, while Anand and Wakefield edged Guzman and Franquis, 7–5, on court No. 2. Drexel secured the point with a 6–2 victory by Obrul and Moukarzel over Jones and Sherner on court No. 3.

In singles play, Drexel continued its momentum with straight-set wins at the top of the lineup. Erlewein topped senior Cooper Gordon, 6–1, 6–2, on court No. 1, and Guzman followed with a 6–2, 6–4 victory over sophomore Quincy Jones on court No. 2. Burridge extended the lead with a 6–1, 7–5 win against junior Ethan Carr on court No. 3.

Drexel sealed the match with wins on the remaining courts. Obrul outlasted junior Will Monahan in a three-set battle, 5–7, 7–5, 10–3, while Moukarzel defeated junior Thomas Wakefield, 6–4, 6–4, on court No. 5. Franquis closed the sweep with a 6–2, 7–6 victory over sophomore Cameron Kruep on court No. 6.
