STOCKTON, Calif. – Nevada Women’s Tennis took on Idaho in day one of the invitational hosted by Pacific, beating the Vandals, 4-1.

Idaho’s lone point came from doubles. The duo of Marlene Foerster and Silvia-Maria Costache fell to Jessica Matthews and Naomi Schraeder, 6-3. Petra Janigova and Kariman Buqai then lost to Ida Johansson and Hanna Koprowska, 6-4. Amahée Charrier and Kennedy Robinson were beating Valentina Rodas and Chenyue Xu, 6-3, when the point was clinched.

Singles came through for the Pack as Costache tied up the match at one after defeating Johansson (6-3, 6-0). Buqai followed it up by beating Mariam Hatem Ibrahim (6-0, 6-4). Charrier then won over Matthews (6-3, 6-2), before Robinson secured the win for Nevada when she defeated Koprowska (6-4, 6-2).

Janigova was winning over Xu (7-5, 3-2) and Foerster was competing against Schraeder (3-6, 6-5) when the match was clinched. 

Nevada will round out the weekend by taking on Pacific tomorrow at 11 a.m.
