CAMP HILL — There was a Lancaster-Lebanon League flavor to the 2025 Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association Honors & Awards Banquet, held Saturday at the Penn Harris Hotel.
In addition to the six L-L players named to the boys and girls All-State teams, three coaches and a contributor were also honored.
Voted to the 2025 Boys All-State team were Andrew Jones, Conestoga Valley; Carson Spangler, Lancaster Catholic; and Isaac Yerger, Warwick.
Voted to the 2025 Girls All-State Team were Livia Smith, Cocalico; Lilly Rineer, Penn Manor; and Regan Taylor, Manheim Township. It was Taylor’s second All-State honor, having been also selected in 2024.
Jones, a senior forward for the Buckskins, scored 25 goals in 2025, with five assists as CV entered the District Three Class 4A playoffs as the No. 2 seed, only to be upset in the quarterfinals.
Spangler, a senior forward for the Crusaders, finished with 10 goals and 13 assists as Catholic won the District Three 2A championship. Saddled with a horrible draw in the state tournament, the Crusaders fell in the first round.
Yerger, a senior keeper for the Warriors, fashioned an 0.42 goals-against average with 16 shutouts. He backstopped a side that won its second L-L title in three years, third in five, and won the District Three 4A championship, advancing to the state quarterfinals.
Smith, a junior forward for the Eagles, had 12 goals and 18 assists, setting the school record for career assists. The Eagles won their first District Three 3A championship advancing to the state quarterfinals.
Rineer, a senior midfielder, had four goals and five assists as the Comets returned to the L-L title game after winning the championship in 2021. They advanced to the semifinals of the District Three 4A playoffs and appeared in the PIAA State tournament.
Taylor, a senior midfielder, had 19 goals and 13 assists as the Blue Streaks won their fourth straight L-L League championship and repeated as District Three 4A champions, their third title in four years, before bowing out of the state tournament in the first round.
Cocalico head coach Dan Hogan received the W. Gene Davis Memorial Award as Class 3A Girls Coach of the Year for 2025, his 30 year coaching, the last 26 as head coach of the Eagles.
The Eagles posted a 20-2-3 record in ‘25, winning their third straight L-L section title — two in Section Two, one in Section Three — and nailed down their first District Three 3A championship after two consecutive silver finishes. The senior class compiled a 69-19-7 overall record over their four years of competition.
Hogan’s assistant, Lynn Parmer, was named the PSCA Assistant Coach of the Year.
Former Hempfield and Conestoga Valley Girls coach Keith Nagley received the Honor Award, the highest level of recognition bestowed on an individual by the PSCA.
Nagley, a former president of the PSCA, compiled 260 wins in 18 years as head coach, 11 at Hempfield, seven at CV. He assisted Mark Ashley as Hempfield won the PIAA girls championship in the spring of 2000 and returned to the title game in 2001.
Taking over for Ashley in 2002, Nagley’s Black Knights were the state runners-up in 2006 and 2009. The 2006 team was the first of Nagley’s two District Three title teams.
He stepped down at Hempfield after the 2012 season, returning to coaching at Conestoga Valley in the fall 2014 season. His best team, the 2017 Buckskins, won the District Three 4A title and advanced to the state semifinals before falling to eventual champion Norwin.
