NASHVILLE, Tenn. – UAB women’s tennis (1-2) picked up its first win of the season on Sunday morning at Belmont (0-2), downing the Bruins, 6-1. 

The Blazers opened the match by taking the doubles point. Kristyna Damaskova and Klara Kajabova took care of business on Court 1 while Julia Caffarena teamed up with Antonia Ende to secure the point with a win on Court 3.

1. Kristyna Damaskova/Klara Kajabova (UAB) def. Savannah Webster/Jessica Popiol (BELW) 6-3

2. Mia Jones/Cielo Tapia-Cruz (BELW) def. Gresi Bajri/Nera Tesankic (UAB) 6-3

3. Julia Caffarena/Antonia Ende (UAB) def. Emma Grant/Libbie Hamilton (BELW) 6-4

UAB was able to capture five of the six singles points to secure the 6-1 victory. The win for Ende is the first of her collegiate career and Caffarena’s first win as a Blazer. Damaskova, Kajabova and Nera Tesankic all earned their first win of the 2026 season.
