HOUSTON, Texas — Former Texas Basketball legend and current Houston Rockets forward Kevin Durant was selected as a reserve for the 2026 NBA All-Star Game as voted on by head coaches in the Western Conference. Durant now has the fourth-most All-Star selections in NBA history with 16, trailing only LeBron James (22), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (19) and Kobe Bryant (18).

Durant was 21 years old when he made his All-Star debut in 2010 and has twice been named All-Star MVP (2012 and 2019). He is one of four former Longhorns to be selected to the NBA All-Star Game, joined by Slater Martin, LaMarcus Aldridge and Jarrett Allen.

Durant is averaging a team-best 26.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.6 assists in 36.8 minutes per game this season. He has converted 51.0-percent from the floor, including a 40.5-percent mark from three-point range, and 88.6-percent from the free throw line on the year.

Durant has averaged at least 25 points per game over a complete season while shooting at least 50-percent from the floor and 40-percent from three-point range a total of seven times in his career, including each of the last three seasons. No other player in NBA history has more than three seasons of accomplishing the feat.

The 2026 NBA All-Star Game is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 15 at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. The event will feature a new U.S. vs. World format which will comprise two teams of American-born players and one team of international players.
