Tampa Bay Lightning forward Anthony Cirelli left Sunday’s Stadium Series game against the Boston Bruins with an injury and did not return.
Cirelli is a member of Team Canada for the upcoming Winter Olympic Games that begin later this week. Canada opens its Olympic schedule against Czechia on Thursday, Feb. 12.
Head coach Jon Cooper did not have a concrete update on Cirelli after the game but described the injury as “kind of a stinger.”

Cirelli was hurt after taking a hard hit from Bruins forward Mark Kastelic at centre ice in the opening period. He appeared to be in pain on the Tampa bench and did not return to the game after leaving and was officially ruled out in the third period.
He played 6:25 and had two shots on goal before departing.
The 28-year-old had 15 goals and 20 assists for 35 points in 48 games so far this season, heading into Sunday’s matchup.
The Lightning rallied from down 5-1 to defeat the Bruins 6-5 in a shootout.
