A woman has died after a snowplow struck her in a parking lot in Truro, N.S., early Monday morning.

According to a Facebook post from the Truro Police Service, the 54-year-old was walking across a parking lot of a car dealership on Queen Street at about 6:30 a.m. when the plow hit her.

Paramedics took the woman to hospital, where she died.

Truro police say they are investigating, and that the snowplow involved was operated by a private contractor.

Asked if criminal charges are possible, Truro Police Chief Dave MacNeil said the investigation is in the early stages and police are “looking at all angles associated with this.”
