CHICAGO – After a 2-0 weekend with dominant defeats over Omaha and Creighton, DePaul women’s tennis swept the BIG EAST Weekly awards the conference announced on Monday afternoon.
Sasha Stula was named BIG EAST Singles Player of the Week after extending her win streak to five matches on the 2026 season. The junior recorded a pair of straight-set victories at No. 1 on the weekend including a 6-2, 7-5 over Omaha’s Nina Wiese on Friday before taking down Creighton’s Sophie Schwartz 6-3, 6-2 on Saturday. This is Stula’s second player of the week honor in her career.
Clara Nilsson and Hannah Smith claimed BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week after a 2-0 weekend in DePaul’s home-opening weekend. The No. 1 duo improved to 8-13 on the 2025-26 season behind a 6-2 defeat of Omaha and a commanding 6-1 win over Creighton’s top pairing. This marks Smith’s sixth team of the week honor in her career while Nilsson received a weekly accolade for the first time in her young career.
