York Regional Police are investigating after shots were fired at a home near Major Mackenzie and Bathurst in Vaughan.
York Regional Police say the new owners of a Vaughan home that has been repeatedly targeted by gunfire in recent months were uninjured after the house was shot at on Monday morning.
Police told reporters that multiple rounds were fired at the home, located on Allison Ann Way near Queen Filomena Avenue, at around 8:30 a.m.
Police confirmed that new owners had recently taken possession of the house and while the residence was occupied at the time, no injuries were reported.
The shooting marks the fourth time the house has been shot at in as many months. The last shooting occurred about two months ago, police said.
Police said the male suspect fled the area in a dark-coloured SUV that was last seen eastbound on Queen Filomena Avenue.
Vaughan Mayor Steven Del Duca told CP24 that he is “really frustrated” by the repeated violence in the area.
“To the residents who live in the immediate area, we know how frustrating and how scary this can be,” he said.
“We are doing everything we can at the city, working closely with York Regional Police.”
Police are continuing to investigate the incidents but have not said if they have identified any possible suspects.
