UFC star Michael ‘Venom’ Page will return to the welterweight division for his next fight at the promotion’s upcoming event in London.

Michael ‘Venom’ Page earned arguably the biggest win of his UFC tenure when he outpointed former middleweight title challenger Jared Cannonier at UFC 319 last year. Despite earning the win over Cannonier and rising into the middleweight title mix, Page has allegedly had difficulties finding willing opponents, as he’s expressed in recent months.

Page remains one of the most dangerous fighters in Mixed Martial Arts, despite the 38-year-old being on the tail end of his career. Recent wins over Kevin Holland, Shara Magomedov, and Cannonier point to Page potentially turning back the clock and possibly earning a shot at the UFC title.

Page has fought at middleweight and welterweight in his UFC tenure, giving him great flexibility and availability to book fights. Despite those advantages, Page has had long hiatuses in between camps, due to contenders allegedly turning down offers.

That wait will end for Page at UFC London later this year.

Michael ‘Venom’ Page set to face surging welterweight in pivotal UFC London showdown

The UFC announced on Monday that Page will return to the UFC welterweight division to face fellow Brit, Sam Patterson, on the UFC London main card on March 21st. The card is headlined by a featherweight clash between top contenders Movsar Evloev and Lerone Murphy.

Patterson has won four fights in a row since dropping his UFC debut in March 2023. He most recently knocked out Trey Waters in September for his fourth consecutive stoppage win.

It’s uncertain if Page will return to middleweight in the future, or if this return to welterweight is a one-off. Regardless, Page vs. Patterson is a massive fight that fans should keep a keen eye on.
