The Pro Bowl is officially part of Super Bowl week, even if the players from both Super Bowl teams aren’t participating.

The NFL has positioned the Pro Bowl flag football game to be played on the Tuesday of Super Bowl week, between Monday’s media night and Thursday’s NFL Honors ceremony.

This year, the game will be a made-for-TV event. The NFL’s top stars will play a flag football contest in a smaller, indoor venue in San Francisco, meaning fans will have to tune in on TV to see the action play out before a long offseason.
