The ATP Montpellier Open 2026 edition is well underway with a lot of competitive matches on the plate. A lot of top seeds are in action and as ever, we preview and predict all the scheduled matches for you.
ATP Montpellier Day 3 Predictions
Round of 32
Nikoloz Basilashvili vs Luca Nardi
Head-to-head – First Meeting
Nikoloz Basilashvili comes in struggling for form and confidence, while Luca Nardi arrives match-fit after reaching a Challenger final last week. The young Italian’s consistency and recent momentum should trouble Basilashvili’s error-prone game. Expect Nardi to be at his attacking best and while Basilashvili may win a set, over the course of three sets, I will favor the Italian.
Prediction: Nardi in 3
Round of 16
Roberto Bautista Agut vs Martin Damm
Head-to-head – First Meeting
Roberto Bautista Agut should enjoy the fast court conditions at Montpellier as the Spaniard did well to come back from a set down to nab the win in his first round. He now faces Martin Damm, who pulled of a great upset against Hubert Hurkacz, beating him in straight sets. Expect Damm to be very competitive but Bautista Agut’s experience may pip him for the win.
Prediction: Bautista Agut in 3
Arthur Gea vs Tomas Machac
Head-to-head – First Meeting
Arthur Gea will no doubt enjoy the home support as the Frenchman faces Tomas Machac, who is seeded third this week. Gea was lucky to get the walkover in his first round but Machac will be a huge level up. The Czech already has a title this year in Adelaide and the-25 year-old will be looking for a strong start this week. Expect Machac to be at his devastating best from the baseline to emerge victorious.
Prediction: Machac in 2
