On Tuesday afternoon, project lead Justin Swilling provided an update on the facility and shared last-minute details fans should know. Swilling said crews will be ready for all conditions and praised the work already done to clear the stadium and keep the race on schedule. After two weekends of historic winter weather across the region, both racing fans and drivers are itching to kick off the 2026 NASCAR season with the Cook Out Clash.”We can’t have a race here without the fans and we can’t have fans here without competitors,” said Justin Swilling, project lead for the event.Swilling said they are ready to welcome every fan who already bought a ticket and those who still need to purchase one.”It’s mission critical that folks are able to come out and support this great event for this great community and that’s what we hope that the fans are able to do,” said Swilling.Organizers said good racing is waiting at the gates, despite lingering snow and cold temperatures. “There’s not a bad seat in the house depending on where you are you can see the whites of the drivers’ eyes and they can see the whites of the fan’s eyes. Pretty special place and really excited to see this get kicked off tomorrow,” said Swilling.Swilling said they are aware of the potential of more winter weather, but they have contingency plans in place and are prepared for whatever comes their way. “We’ll be ready for any and all scenarios, we’ve overcomes the past two weekends I feel very confident in telling you our entire team is ready to take any task on,” said Swilling.
