Khamzat Chimaev and Ciryl Gane are known to get in work with a rising PFL heavyweight, and the surging fighter spoke about some of these training dynamics recently.

The combatant in question is Pouya Rahmani, who battles Karl Williams at PFL Dubai: Nurmagomedov vs. Davis on February 7th. Addressing high-level people he has worked with who have well-rounded MMA skill sets, when giving his thoughts on some of his training experiences, Rahmani said [via Bowks Talking Bouts],

“Most of the good fighters, they come to Middle East. So we train together, you know. Most of the UFC fighters who come to Middle East, they come to us, we train together. So Khamzat Chimaev, you mention, he’s my brother. We had two camp for his two fights.”

“So we was together and Ciryl Gane for his fight. Azamat [Murzakanov], he also fight on same card as Ciryl Gane, he’s 16-0. He was with me on the camp. Yeah, a lot of fighter when they have fight and if their fight is in the Middle East, they come to us and we train together.”

When touching upon the trope of iron sharpens iron, and this kind of work in this region of the world being a benefit to everybody there, Rahmani stated [via Bowks Talking Bouts],

“So the best in the world, they know who is the best in the world also. Real recognize real, brother. That’s why we find each other and we train together.”

Khamzat Chimaev blasts Alex Pereira once again

Khamzat Chimaev continues to call out Alex Pereira as the former campaigns for a big champ versus champ fight against the latter. Taking to his personal X page to put ‘Poatan’ on blast across a pair of tweets, Chimaev quipped,

“BORZ 15 W Cama 13 W, and 3 losses. Only this is the difference between us. If you show respect I show back respect, cama team talk too much that’s why no respect anymore.”

‘Borz’ has mentioned wanting an Alex Pereira clash for the UFC White House card in June. But Pereira keeps lobbying for a matchup against a fellow former two-division UFC champion in Jon Jones for the massively hyped up Summer event.
