Kel Galavan
Today, Kel Galavan is a popular money coach and author, but 10 years ago, her financial situation was far from perfect. That’s until she decided to turn it around.
“The day we actually got back up to zero, the day we were worth nothing, that was one of the best days of my life,” she told host Katie Byrne on the latest episode of Money Talks.
Having climbed out of negative equity and saved over €27,000 during a no-spend year, Ms Galavan is living proof that we can overcome even the most trying financial situations.
She also knows a thing or two about investing and the rookie mistakes that beginner investors tend to make.
“I trusted myself, but I did not understand economies,” she said. “I did not understand dips. I did not understand the vulnerability that can come from things that are entirely outside your control.”
Now, with over 20 years of experience under her belt, she’s on a mission to get Irish people investing.
In this episode she chats about Ireland’s psychological relationship with investing, the importance of building a financial foundation before diving in and the three questions every rookie investor needs to ask themselves.
