The Toronto Argonauts have released American LB Wynton McManis, the 31-year-old was a pending free agent.
“A two-time Grey Cup champion in Double Blue, Wynton represented a championship standard both on the field and as a leader in our community,” said Argonauts general manager Michael “Pinball” Clemons.
“I am infinitely grateful we were included on his journey; he made us better — not just a better team but better people. We are so grateful for his contributions, and while we’re sad to see him go, we wish him nothing but the best in the next chapter of his career.”
The defender has spent the last four seasons with Toronto, recording 286 tackles, 12 sacks, and nine interceptions in 55 games, claiming two All-CFL nods in the process.
McManis spent the first three years of his career with the Calgary Stampeders, putting up 104 tackles and four sacks in 45 games.
