We finally have a more concrete development involving center Mason McTavish and the Montreal Canadiens.
Well, precisely on that topic, the excellent Anthony Di Marco has just reported an interesting development.
It’s confirmed: the Montreal Canadiens are closely monitoring the Mason McTavish situation
It’s great to learn that the Habs are officially keeping an eye on this situation.
Anthony Di Marco: “The Canadiens are a club that I’d reckon would be keeping close tabs on McTavish’s availability”
– Daily Faceoff
That confirms exactly what we were thinking.
Mason McTavish, age 22, is a complete center, 6 feet 2 inches tall and 220 pounds, who was the 3rd overall pick by the Anaheim Ducks in 2021 (first round).
He has accumulated 140 points in 229 career NHL games, including 60 goals, and he recorded 52 points in 76 games in 2024-2025, on a third line and with little power-play time.
McTavish would literally be ideal as a second-line center for the Montreal Canadiens.
If he does become available, which could very well happen soon, expect the Montreal Canadiens to call quickly.
