Residents have been ordered to leave their homes in the area of Route 60 from Beaumont Place to the bridge at the entrance of Holyrood due to a wildfire.
That includes people living on side roads.
A special air quality statement has also been issued for the region due to the smoke.
A reception area for people displaced by the fire has been set up at the C.B.S. arena at 13 Mifflen Drive.

According to the RCMP, the main road from Beaumont Place in Holyrood to the bridge at the entrance of Holyrood (CBS side) is closed.
Mounties are asking the public who are looking to go to Holyrood to take the TCH to get to the town.
Firefighters from parts of the Conception Bay North and South are working to douse the flames.
The St. John’s Regional Fire Department is warning that smoke from wildfires are drifting into the city and surrounding communities, impacting air quality.
Residents are advised to turn off air exchangers and HVAC units to reduce indoor exposure.
