Full GO Train service is expected to resume Saturday morning following a derailment at Union Station on Monday, Metrolinx says.
Service on Thursday night and Friday will operate a reduced scheduled, the provincial transit agency said in an email on Thursday. The news follows days of delays.
There will be additional trips where there is capacity, the transit agency added.
“We’d like to thank our customers for their continued understanding as we work to restore full service on our lines. We know it’s been a challenging commute this week and we appreciate your patience,” Metrolinx said.
“Our crews are continuing to work around the clock to finish repairs on our tracks, complete testing of the signals, and return damaged infrastructure to service so we can add more train service.”Â
Thursday marked the fourth day of reduced service after a derailed train caused havoc on train schedules and delayed thousands of commuters.
Trains will run on the following special schedule Thursday evening and throughout Friday:

A GO train leaving Union Station at low speed Monday morning derailed and made contact with a track switch, causing “signal system disruptions” and “considerable service impacts,” said Metrolinx.
Commuters impacted by Monday’s incident will be eligible for a refund, it said. Refunds can be requested by submitting a claim online.
