Cindy Crawford shared a photo from an old photoshoot in which she posed topless covering up with just her hands. The photo was taken by Albert Watson in 1992 for the cover of Details Magazine.It is featured in a new Cindy Crawford exhibition at Berlin’s Camera Work gallery.
Cindy Crawford is taking a moment to reminisce on the early days of her career—and she’s using a rather risqué photo to do it. The model shared a throwback photo on her Instagram Stories on February 4. The black-and-white photo saw her posing completely topless, covering up with just her hands. She wore a dainty necklace and a ring, while her long brunette hair fell straight around her shoulders.

Crawford re-shared an Instagram post by the photographer Albert Watson. “Albert Watson photograph ‘Cindy Crawford, New York City, 1992,’ from a cover shoot for Details magazine and featured in the new exhibition ‘Cindy Crawford’ at our Berlin-based gallery Camera Work, through March 14, and co-curated by Cindy herself,” Watson wrote alongside the old photo.

Crawford is no stranger to stripping down for the sake of a good photo. Last August, she went topless while posing a sauna selfie. In November, she posed in nothing but a bathrobe.
But for Crawford, this is nothing new. Back in the ’80s and ’90s, she frequently graced the pages of Playboy. “I look back at some of my old Playboy pictures and I think, ‘Why wasn’t I walking around naked all the time?'” she told Porter in 2019. “I’m not getting younger. So I want to celebrate who I am today.”
In fact, her daughter, Kaia Gerber, once revealed that Crawford’s naked pictures were, quite literally, all over their family home when she was growing up.

“They were, to me, artistic,” Gerber said. “It wasn’t vulgar; it wasn’t objectification.”
She added that it was “a gift to grow up in a house that was without shame for the female body.”
