EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men’s tennis team began the second leg of their season on Thursday night as they hosted Macalester College at the John & Fay Menard Tennis Center. The Blugolds took down the Scots 7-0.
The Blugolds battled hard in doubles play winning two of their matches. both pairs of Sam Murillo and Andrew Mueller, and Ethan Leeser and Billy Hughes dominated their matches each winning 6-1.
The Blugolds swepts their singles play matches. Billy Hughes played a tightly contested match, eventually winning on the third set. Pablo Rincon, Sam Murillo, Ethan Leeser, Danylo Ripeckyj, and Emilio Monge all won their matches in two sets.
The Blugolds will be back in action on Sunday, February 15th with two duals at home against Lawrence University at 11 a.m. and UW-Superior at 4 p.m.
