Staff at the NexSource Centre are inviting residents of Sylvan Lake to take part in the February Fitness Challenge.

The February Fitness challenge runs from Feb. 1 to Feb. 28.

The challenge was created to support community members in staying active during the winter months, Recreation Program Supervisor Cassandra McGloin said.

“This challenge is about movement, motivation, and community. All are welcome, regardless of fitness level. It’s a great opportunity to try something new, stay active during winter, and connect with others.”

Community members interested in participating can stop by the NexSource Centre reception desk to pick up a bingo card, she added.

“Whether it’s swimming, completing fitness bingo activities, or joining drop-in programs, participants track their activities throughout February for a chance to win a prize.”

The challenge is designed to be inclusive and accessible for a wide range of ages and fitness levels.

“Some activities may have standard facility age guidelines. Community members are encouraged to choose activities that suit their comfort level and abilities,” McGloin said.

There is no additional cost to participate in the challenge itself but some activities require facility admission or a membership.
