Kid Rock is hitting back at criticism of the upcoming All-American Halftime Show, which he is set to headline.
The concert, which will also feature performances from Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice and Gabby Barrett, is being put on by conservative organization Turning Point USA as an alternative halftime show to compete with Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime performance.
Kid Rock, a longtime supporter of President Donald Trump, seemed to send a message to his detractors ahead of the show this Sunday, Feb. 8. In a post on X, the singer shared a Kobe Bryant quote.
“Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and everyone should have one about you,” the post reads. “Haters are a good problem to have. Nobody hates the good ones. They hate the great ones.”

The musician’s post appeared to be a response to some criticism he has drawn for his involvement with the alternative halftime show, which casts Bad Bunny’s performance as un-American.
Turning Point, founded by late right-wing activist Charlie Kirk, announced in October that it would put on their own Super Bowl halftime performance after the NFL’s choice of Bad Bunny as a headlining artist sparked controversy among some on the right.
Bad Bunny, a Latin superstar who hails from Puerto Rico, sings primarily in Spanish and has been critical of Trump’s deportation efforts. When he was announced as the Super Bowl’s lead performer, several conservative pundits, and Trump himself, criticized the choice, alleging he wasn’t a popular enough artist and that he was a divisive pick. Bad Bunny was Spotify’s most-streamed artist globally in 2025.

Bad Bunny has touched down in the Bay Area ahead of his highly anticipated, and contested, Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show on Sunday, Feb. 8, in Santa Clara, California.
The Puerto Rican superstar appeared at the Apple Music press conference with hosts Zane Lowe and Ebro Darden to chat all about what fans can expect from his solo halftime show debut (he previously hit the stage with Jennifer Lopez and Shakira in 2020).
“I feel more excited about all of the people than thinking about me,” he said onstage, visibly nervous, and taking it all in. “My family and all my friends.”

In protest, Turning Point will stream their All-American Half-time Show celebrating “faith, family, and freedom” on their social channels, as well as several conservative networks, including Real America’s Voice and OAN.
“We’re approaching this show like David and Goliath. Competing with the pro football machine and a global pop superstar is almost impossible … or is it?” Kid Rock said in a release announcing the lineup.
