SAN JACINTO, Calif. – Madi Hicks finished in 10th place at the Soboba Springs Classic to lift the North Dakota State women’s golf team to a fourth-place finish in its first tournament of the spring season at Soboba Springs Golf Course on Friday afternoon.

Hicks (77-73-77—227) added nine more holes par and two birdies in the final round. Hicks finished +5 on day three to end +11 overall in tenth, picking up her second top 10 finish of the season.

Avery Bartels (79-77-74—230) carded her best round of the weekend to finish just outside of the top 10 in a tie for 13th. Bartels fired a team-high of five birdies to finish +2 in the final round, landing +14 overall.

Norah Roberts (78-83-75—236) improved by 8 strokes from round two to finish +3 on the final day. Roberts was even through six holes and tallied two birdies to sit -1 through the front nine. The junior climbed 10 places up the leaderboard to finish in a tie for 21st place at +20 overall.

Hannah Dunk (80-83-76—239) was the final scoring Bison for the last 18-holes. Dunk recorded 12 holes at an even par with two birdies to finish +4 on the day, and +23 overall to land in 31st place.

Cora Larson (80-76-80—236) and Jeri Lafleche (81-71-84—236) wrap up the NDSU lineup. Larson finished +8 on the day and Lafleche, who was playing as an individual, finished +12 in the final round. The pair tied with Roberts in a tie for 21st place at +20 overall.

As a team, the Bison (314-309-302—925) finished fourth at +61 overall. CSU Northridge (312-295-294—901) claimed the tournament title at +37, with host Fresno State (310-297-295—902) just behind at +38 and UC Riverside (317-302-294—913) claiming third at +49.

NDSU will take two weeks off before returning to action at the El Campeon Collegiate at the Mission Inn Resort in Howie-In-The-Hills, Florida on February 23-24.
