The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed defensive lineman Jake Ceresna to a two-year contract, the team announced on Friday.

Ceresna, 31, is a two-time CFL All-Star (2022, ‘24), but was limited to just 11 games with the Edmonton Elks while dealing with a knee injury in 2025.

The 10th-ranked player on TSN’s top free agent’s list, Ceresna was a monster in the middle from 2022-24 with the Elks and Toronto Argonauts, amassing 30 sacks and six forced fumbles in 47 games.

The Elks also announced that they have assigned the playing rights of Ceresna to the Blue Bombers to help complete the transaction.

Ceresna has spent seven seasons in the CFL after signing as an undrafted free agent with the NFL’s New York Jets out of college. The native of New Fairfield, Conn. has spent time with the Ottawa Redblacks, two stints with the Elks and a stop in Toronto with the Argonauts. He helped guide the Argonauts to the 2024 GRey Cup championship in his lone season with the team.

In 102 career CFL games, Ceresna has 201 tackles and 46 sacks with one interceptions and seven forced fumbles.
