Katie Boulter and Tamara Korpatsch’s WTA Ostrava final will be one of the most important matches of their careers. Boulter has an opportunity to win her fourth title and first in over a year, while Korpatsch seeks to become a two-time WTA titlist. It should be an entertaining battle filled with great tennis. We here at LWOT give our prediction and analysis in this article.
WTA Ostrava Final Prediction
Katie Boulter vs Tamara Korpatsch
Head-to-head: First meeting
Both women have been dominant during their runs to this stage. Boulter needed three sets to overcome Lucie Havlickova in the opening round before straight set triumphs over Viktorija Golubic, Linda Fruhvirtova, and Katie Volynets. Korpatsch did not drop a set in victories against Anna Siskova, Emiliana Arango, Caty McNally, and Diane Parry.
Despite how well Korpatsch played in the previous rounds, the outcome of the final will largely depend on Boulter’s level. The Briton possesses much more firepower and is more talented than the German. At her best, Boulter has the game to challenge most WTA players with her huge forehand and impressive serve. The 29-year-old’s issue has been finding that level consistently, with 2025 being a particularly difficult year for Alex de Minaur’s fiancée.
Although Korpatsch needs Boulter to be below her best, the 2023 Transylvania Open champion can give herself an opportunity by effectively using variety. She is adept at mixing up the pace in the rallies, which offers some chance of throwing Boulter out of rhythm when she tries to dominate from the baseline. There is almost no chance of Korpatsch prevailing if she tries to go toe-to-toe with her opponent consistently.
Korpatsch’s chances should not be ruled out, but Boulter is the more likely winner. She was particularly excellent against the gritty Volynets in the semifinal, which sets her up perfectly for this match. I doubt the British star will let this opportunity slip.
Prediction: Boulter in 2
