(Gray News) – Kid Rock’s lyrics are stirring controversy as his performance at Turning Point USA’s All-American Halftime Show approaches.
Many of Rock’s lyrics have resurfaced, including “Cool Daddy Cool,” a song released in 2001.
“On my cellphone I’m paid, G, can’t call me, just page me,” he sings. “Young ladies, young ladies, I like ’em underage, see. Some say that’s statutory / But I say it’s mandatory / My story ain’t that complex, two forties and a Rolex.”

In response to the criticism, Kid Rock did not directly address the lyrics. Instead, he posted a quote on social media about “learning to love the hate,” attributed to Kobe Bryant.
One user wrote, “Whats up Kiddie Rock! You like them young? Is your name in the files too?”
“Using Kobe’s name is crazy work smh so what’s up with those underage lyrics??” another user wrote.
Turning Point USA, the conservative group founded by Charlie Kirk, announced earlier this week that Rock was among the headliners of the organization’s alternate Super Bowl LX halftime show meant to “celebrate faith, family and freedom.”
Bad Bunny will perform at the actual Super Bowl LX on Sunday.
