On Saturday, Magomedov made his official Professional Fighters League (PFL) debut at PFL Dubai from inside Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Magomedov trains under the tutelage of former UFC lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov, who is widely regarded as one of the best fighters of all time and now one of the best coaches in mixed martial arts (MMA).

In other words, fight fans had high hopes for Magomedov as he stepped inside the cage early Saturday for his PFL debut.

Fortunately for Team Khabib, Magomedov did not disappoint. The talented lightweight needed just 37 seconds to score a powerful takedown against his opponent, Kolton Englund, and ground-and-pound his way to a TKO finish. It was as dominant as a debut could be and a tremendous way for the Khabib-trained Magomedov to begin his PFL tenure.

Magomedov, 26, is now 10-0 in his young professional career. The more impressive stat is that the Dagestani fighter has finished eight of those wins by way of knockout or submission. If he can continue to dominate the competition and find finishes then it’s only a matter of time before Magomedov is fighting the best lightweights PFL has to offer.
