Veteran NHL defenceman Travis Dermott is joining the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack on a player try-out contract, the team announced on Saturday.

The Wolf Pack are the AHL affiliate of the New York Rangers.

Dermott, 29, split last season between the Edmonton Oilers and Minnesota Wild organizations, appearing in 19 games without recording a point.

The 6-foot, left-shot blueliner also appeared in three AHL games last season with the Bakersfield Condors, recording a goal.

Drafted 34th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2015, Dermott has 16 goals and 62 points in 348 career NHL games split between the Maple Leafs, Vancouver Canucks, Arizona Coyotes, Oilers, and Canucks.

His best season was during the 2018-19 campaign where he recorded four goals and 17 points while averaging 17:18 of ice time in 64 games as a member of the Maple Leafs.
