Mariah Carey performed at the opening ceremony the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan Friday.
The pop superstar dazzled the audience when she sang the Italian classic “Volare (Nel Blu, Dipinto di Blu)” in Italian during the opening ceremonies at San Siro Stadium.
Carey, 56, wore a sparkling white and silver gown paired with over 300 carats of diamonds valued at an estimated $15 million, according to Yahoo.
Although not Italian herself, Carey is familiar with the country’s music as her mother, Patricia, was a Juilliard-trained opera singer, per the New York Post.
Marco Balich, creative director of the opening ceremonies, revealed in January that the Carey was going to perform “a beautiful song in Italian.”
The Grammy Award winning songstress also performed “Nothing is Impossible” from her 2025 album “Here For It All.”
The 2026 Winter Olympics commenced Friday, Feb. 6 and will conclude on Sunday, Feb. 22.
