KOHALA COAST, Hawaii — Five golfers finished with career-bests as the Stanford men’s golf team completed its historic weekend at the 35th Amer Ari Invitational on Saturday. Stanford, which shot 12-under for the day, slotted in fifth overall at 56-under, 808, securing the second lowest below-par tournament score in program history. 

Nathan Wang led the charge for Stanford during Saturday’s final round, securing his second top-10 finish and his lowest-ever tournament having finished the tournament at 16-under, 200 after a 5-under, 67 on Saturday. Wang secured six birdies spread evenly across the front- and back-nine as he contended among the leaders of the tournament. Having finished the tournament with a string of three birdies in his final seven holes, Wang slotted inside the top-10 and tied for eighth after the three-day tournament. 

Having an even-par final round, Jay Leng finished his time in Hawaii with a career-low tournament, ending the three-day Invitational at 14-under, 202, smashing his total from last season by four strokes. Leng, who entered the day at fourth overall, battled through an up-and-down round that saw the sophomore nab seven birdies. Leng finished the tournament with his second best placement of the season, sitting tied for 14th overall. 

Dean Greyserman had a solid afternoon for Stanford, finishing the day at 2-under, 70 and 12-under, 204 to set a new tournament low. Greyserman, whose previous tournament low was shattered by 10 strokes following Saturday’s final round, earned two of his four birdies on the front nine that proved the difference as he completed the back nine at even par. The senior just missed his second top-20 placement of the season with a tied-24th place finish overall. 

Ending the tournament at 10-under and grabbing a career tournament-low, Edan Cui rattled off the second-best score of the final round for the Cardinal, turning in a 4-under, 68 card on Saturday. Having bogeyed his second hole of the day, Cui rattled off five birdies across a 14-hole stretch to slot three-under par heading into his final two holes of the day.Having birdied in his penultimate hole of the tournament, Cui hit par on his final hole of the day, ending the tournament with a 10-under, 206 and tied for 33rd overall. 

TK Chantananuwat ended his three-day invitational with a 1-under, 71 on Saturday, finding himself tied for 48th overall at 7-under for the tournament. Chantananuwat earned seven birdies through his up-and-down third round, earning five birdies along the North Course’s back nine before ending his day with a birdie on hole two to conclude the competition. 

Kush Arora moved up the leaderboard on Saturday as Stanford’s individual entry, turning in his best round of the tournament with a 4-under, 68 on Saturday. Arora earned six birdies on the day including four in his last six holes to end the tournament at 6-under, 210 and tied for 59th overall. 

Stanford is back in action in just under two weeks, taking part in The Prestige as cohosts alongside UC Daivs. The three-day tournament kicks off from La Quinta, Calif. On Monday, February 16.
