KOHALA COAST, Hawaii. — No. 4 Pepperdine men’s golf shot -44 across three rounds at the Amer Ari Invitational from Mauna Lani Resort Golf Club, finishing seventh as a team in the field of 20.
Mahanth Chirravuri finished in 8th-place individually at -16 while Willy Walsh recorded a 12th-place individual finish at -15 for the tournament.
Walsh led the Waves in Saturday’s final round with a bogey-free 64 (-8), as the Waves shot -16 as a team to move up into seventh-place.
Auburn (-77) won the tournament with the Tigers’ Jackson Koivun (-25) winning the individual title.
Beginning with two pars on nine and ten, Willy Walsh then rattled off five birdies on the next seven holes as he tore up the back nine with a 5-under 31. Making the turn, Walsh fired birdies on one and two, making an eighth birdie of the day on hole seven, to get in with a 64 (-8). The bogey-free round put him at -15 (69-68-64) for the tournament, finishing 12th individually.
Brady Siravo carded a 68 (-4) to finish -12 (69-67-68) for the tournament, placing 24th individually. Beginning with a bogey on his first hole of the day, it would end up being the lone blemish on his round which featured five birdies. This included three straight birdies on holes 13-15, while also having circles on the scorecard on holes 1 and 10.
Mahanth Chirravuri maintained a spot in top-10, finishing eighth individually at -16 (61-70-69) following a 3-under final round on Saturday. Chirravuri logged 15 pars on the day without a single bogey, recording birdies on two, seven and 18 for the 3-under round.
Luke Dariotis shot a 71 (-1) in the final round, to finish the tournament at -2 (72-71-71) and in 76th place in a consistent week. Dariotis shot 4-under on the back nine with four birdies after beginning on hole 9, before carding three bogeys on the front nine to finish 1-under for the round.
Byungho Lee finished the tournament at +7 (74-71-78), recording three birdies in Saturday’s final round, eventually getting in with a 78 (+6).
Competing as an individual, Luke Bailey finished the tournament in 45th at -8 (70-68-70). Bailey carded three birdies and a single bogey in his final round, to finish with a 70 (-2).
