Initial reactions and Observations

This is probably Luis Diaz’s best game to date. Won both of Harry Kane’s penalties before scoring a hat-trick himself. What a player! Considering Cody Gakpo had a game to forget for Liverpool against Manchester City in the concurrent fixture, Diaz continues to prove his worth every passing day.Speaking of game to forget, Nicolas Jackson certainly had that. He’s just nowhere near the level required at Bayern.Oliver Baumann had to pull off numerous saves to make Bayern underperform their 5.85 xG. No doubt who’s starting in goal at the World Cup.

That’s all everyone! Hope you enjoyed that one, and we’ve got a massive showdown with Leipzig in the DFB-Pokal in a few days. See you then!

89’ — TOR! Luis Diaz seals his hat-trick, assisted by Jamal Musiala.

80’ — Konrad Laimer makes his return from injury, replacing Alphonso Davies

68’ — Harry Kane comes off for Nicolas Jackson.

64’ — Jamal Musiala, Lennart Karl, and Hiroki Ito replace Serge Gnabry, Michael Olise, and Jonathan Tah.

62’ — TOR! Bayern get their fourth goal from Luis Diaz’s second, after he ghosts in between the Hoffenheim players and connects with Michael Olise’s pass.

57’ — Neuer saves from point-blank range, and Jonathan Tah has been booked for a foul in the build up.

51’ — Harry Kane’s header has been tipped over by Oliver Baumann

45’ — Second half kicks off!

Bayern still playing a bit sloppy. Kompany won’t have enough time to sort the squad out come the Champions League knockouts.Manuel Neuer…what can I say? It’s Jonas Urbig time.Kramaric is Kramaric, nothing new.

45+1’ — TOR! Harry Kane sets Bayern off on the counter and finds Luis Diaz who calmly finesses the ball into the goal past a stationary Oliver Baumann.

45’ — TOR! Harry Kane scores another penalty. We take those.

44’ — PENALTY TO BAYERN! Vladimir Coufal is booked for the foul.

41’ — Bayern still knocking on the door but nothing to show for it.

36’ — Goal. Manuel Neuer chips the ball straight to Andrej Kramaric inside Bayern’s box and he duly finishes the shot.

32’ — Serge Gnabry fires it well wide. Fifteen million euros until 2028, ladies and gentlemen.

27’ — Kane misses a sitter. Not great.

19’ — TOR! Harry Kane coolly slots the penalty home to give Bayern the lead!

17’ — PENALTY TO BAYERN! Kevin Akpoguma is sent off for a last-man challenge.

13’ — Michael Olise enters the referee’s notebook.

9’ — Bayern nearly score after a scramble in the box.

7’ — A competent referee? Feels like a breath of fresh air. Alphonso Davies got clipped in that play in case you didn’t see it.

Kickoff! — Come on, Bayern!

Interesting news: no Kim Min-jae in the lineup at all.

Manuel Neuer recovers in time to start this match, while Alphonso Davies marks a third consecutive league start. Konrad Laimer starts on the bench for today.

Bayern Munich has seen their form slip up a bit, as seen in the defeat to Augsburg followed by a draw to Hamburg. With Borussia Dortmund closing the gap, the Bavarians must win this match against Hoffenheim. It won’t be easy as Die Kraichgauer are third in the league and have the second-best attack behind Bayern.

Bayern reportedly has a fully fit squad which will come as welcome news to Vincent Kompany who cannot afford to have his team lose a bit of control, especially during the part of the season where seasons are normally decided.

Bayern wins 4-2 with goals from Harry Kane (x2), Michael Olise, and Serge Gnabry off the bench. Andrej Kramarić scores twice because he’s that kind of player.
