The NASCAR season officially begins with a packed weekend at Daytona International Speedway. It is time for Speedweeks and the Daytona 500.

The week features multiple on-track sessions for the NASCAR Cup Series drivers. They will practice, qualify, and race multiple times at the 2.5-mile superspeedway.

The ARCA Menards Series, Craftsman Truck Series, and O’Reilly Auto Parts Series teams will also be in action on multiple days while kicking off their respective seasons.

Daytona 500 forecast and weekend schedule

Wednesday forecast: The WeatherUnderground forecast calls for cloudy skies and a high of 74 degrees. Only a 2% chance of precipitation throughout the day. 

Thursday forecast: The forecast calls for partly cloudy skies throughout the day with a high of 68 degrees and a 12% chance of precipitation.

Friday forecast: The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies throughout the day. A high of 62 degrees and a 13% chance of precipitation at the start of the Truck Series race. 

Saturday forecast: The forecast calls for partly cloudy skies throughout the day. A high of 67 degrees and a 5% chance of precipitation at the start of the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race. 

Sunday forecast: The forecast calls for cloudy skies and a potential for rainstorms in the afternoon. A high of 75 degrees and a 42% chance of rain at the start of the Daytona 500.
