Skitmaker Isaac Aloma, popularly known as Zicsaloma, has emphasised the importance of setting strict financial boundaries to achieve financial independence.
In a recent video, he revealed that his family’s entitled attitude once hindered his financial progress, advising people to be selfish with their finances, even with loved ones.
According to Zicsaloma, African families, including one’s own, often feel entitled to one’s wealth, making it necessary to be financially responsible and prioritise savings.
He opined that being financially responsible, even if it means being perceived as “heartless,” is crucial to breaking the cycle of dependency and achieving financial goals.
He said, “I did a lot of business while growing up, but most of them failed because of family. The African family and even your own family are very entitled to your wealth. Even when the purpose of working is to save money and build a better future.
“It is very okay to be financially heartless even to your friends and family so that you can even save up and break that circle. They will hate you for it, but trust me, it is for your own good.”
