French Teen Sensation Efremova to Make Pro Debut at Inaugural WTA 125 Tournament in Les Sables-d’Olonne, Joining Top 200 Players

Ksenia Efremova has started her 2026 season in impressive fashion. The 16-year-old French player won the Australian Open Juniors, becoming the first French player to win a Junior Major since Elsa Jacquemot at Roland-Garros in 2020.
Fans won’t have to wait long to see her in action on the professional tour. Indeed, the Moscow-born player will be competing in a WTA 125 tournament next week.
Efremova to Play a Home Tournament Next Week
As reported by the media WTA à la Une on X (formerly Twitter), Efremova has received a wild card to compete in the main draw of the WTA 125 in Les Sables-d’Olonne, scheduled from February 15 to 22 in Vendée.
This is the inaugural edition of this tournament, whose director is none other than Jo-Wilfried Tsonga: “Offering players the opportunity to compete in a high-level event in this new venue, located in a region dear to me, is a true source of pride,” assured the former world No. 5 on the event’s website.
Among the players announced as participants, we find Darja Semenistaja, Lucia Bronzetti, Diane Parry, Greet Minnen, Tamara Korpatsch, Varvara Lepchenko, Jessika Ponchet, Fiona Ferro, and Manon Léonard. Find the full lineup on this link.
