Bayern Munich’s 2-0 victory over Rasenballsport Leipzig in the DFB-Pokal quarterfinals means the Bavarians have now reached the semifinals for the first time since 2020. This made the match against Leipzig, despite the positive 11-1 aggregate scoreline over the previous two seasons over the club born in 2008, a really important one to win. After the match, ESPN sideline reporter Archie Rhind-Tutt asked Harry Kane about his thoughts on the match and if it was one of the biggest wins of the season.

“Yeah, [it was] a really big win. Any big quarterfinal you play in is going to be high pressure and you will have to step up in the moment,” Kane said. “I think we did it. In the first half I think the game was more open, we had some good chances but their goalkeeper made some good saves. In the second half I think we were very solid defensively and we took our chances when they came. Overall it was a very professional performance and it is great to be in the semifinal.”

It is a big step towards winning another trophy for the England captain. But he knows to focus on the opponents ahead rather than get fixated on the grand prize just yet.
