Lazio took the last available spot in the Italian Cup semi-finals on Wednesday, beating holders Bologna 4-1 in a penalty shootout away from home after regulation time ended 1-1.
Lazio’s Netherlands midfielder Kenneth Taylor scored the decisive spot-kick after Bologna’s Lewis Ferguson and Riccardo Orsolini failed to covert their penalties.
The hosts had taken the lead in the first half with a header by Santiago Castro from a corner but Lazio substitute Tijjani Noslin touched in from close range to equalize after the break.
The Rome side will take on Atalanta in the last four, with Serie A leaders Inter facing Como in the other two-leg semi.
