Teenager Will Driscoll faced a shocking arrest on Friday’s episode of Coronation Street as teacher Daniel Osbourne worked out he was the one who attacked him on Christmas Day

Will Driscoll has been arrested on Coronation Street. The teenager, who is played by Lucas Hodgson-Wale, first arrived in Weatherfield towards the end of last year as he and his family moved into the Rovers Return Inn.
He has been having an affair with his teacher Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon), who, in turn, has started up a fake relationship with Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) to cover her tracks. But currently pregnant, Megan has claimed she is saving to move away so she can raise the baby until Will is able to join them.
Will is well aware of Megan’s relationship with Daniel and, having had enough of it, over Christmas, he attacked Daniel in the backyard of the pub but, unbeknownst to him, his grandmother Maggie (Pauline McLynn), already a secret killer, witnessed the assault and staged a robbery, planting the evidence onto a homeless man so her grandson would get away with it.

On Friday night’s episode of the world’s longest-running TV soap, Daniel finally came face-to-face with a homeless man named Colin, whom police have pinned the assault on. But almost instantly, Daniel noticed that the man was walking with a limp, and distinctly recalled the attacker running off into the night when it all happened.
When Colin claimed he couldn’t really remember, Daniel demanded to know why he would have admitted to it in the first place and Colin explained that he is kept off the streets by being in prison.
Having put two and two together, Daniel marched round to the Rovers to confront Will. He said: “You weren’t very happy with me on Christmas Day, were you?

“If I remember correctly? I think it was you who attacked me that night. I think it was. I remember the person running away and they had this big , messy mop of curly hair!”
Over a meal at the Bistro, Daniel put his theory to girlfriend Megan and she tried to put him off the scent. She later stormed over to the pub to try to warn Will about the situation, but it was too late.
DC Kit Green was already on the scene, and his family looked on. Stepmother Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley) said: “They’re arresting Will,” but Kit reassured her they were only going to take him in for questioning – that is until he tried to make a run for it.
At that point, Kit grabbed the teenager and said: “You do not have to say anything, but it it may harm your defence if you do not mention when questioned something which you later rely on in court. Anything you do say may be given in evidence.”
His dad Ben insisted: “He’s only 16, I’m coming with him!” and Maggie, who knows the truth, said she was going to contact a solicitor, as Megan flailed around helplessly, clearly terrified that their illicit affair could be about to be exposed.
