The fitness brand was started in 2017 and gained the attention of actress Jennifer Aniston, who partnered with the brand in 2023.
PORTLAND, Oregon — This story comes from the Portland Business Journal, a KGW news partner. The full story is here.
A fitness franchise backed by actress Jennifer Aniston is opening a location in Portland.
Pvolve, an exercise studio focused on functional fitness, will open a studio in the Slabtown neighborhood at 2121 N.W. Savier St., according to permits filed with the city’s planning department.
Two permits filed with a total valuation of $488,000 show Pvolve will add a studio, sales floor area, private training room and storage area.
Pvolve did not immediately return requests for comment. A webpage for the location says “coming soon” but doesn’t include an opening day. It will be the brand’s first location in Oregon.
Pvolve was started in 2017 by entrepreneur Rachel Katzman who was looking for a low-impact exercise class that still provided results without triggering pain she experienced from scoliosis, according to the company’s website.
Katzman worked with a Clinical Advisory Board and expert trainers to create the Pvolve fitness routine — a workout that focuses on total-body strength, mobility and stability.
The company attracted the attention of actress Jennifer Aniston who discovered the program in 2021 through a friend. Anniston partnered with the company in 2023 and works with product development, marketing and programming strategy.
The brand has since expanded to open over 20 physical studios across the U.S. and Canada.
Other national brands have selected Portland for new locations as well. San Francisco-based bag company Baggu will open a store in May. Little Caesars announced its seeking franchise owners to add 25 locations to the area. Permits showed Bank of America is also planning a new branch in downtown Portland.
